FAQ’S
What does traveling | on-location only mean?
Quite simply, it means I come to you! I provide an exclusive service in the privacy of your own home, venue, or wherever you may be. It really is all about convenience. You don’t have to worry about leaving the house or traffic, and you can have your service fit your schedule….just remember to book early or timing may be limited.
How soon should I book?
The sooner the better! Certain dates can be very popular and it’s better to be proactive. For weddings, the average is at least six months ahead to ensure you get the date and times you want. For special events like galas or parties you have less warning, so just try to book as soon as you get the date because other people will be going to the same event.
What is your policy for booking?
To ensure your spot on a busy date, I will ask for a 50% deposit. This policy always applies to weddings as well, as they are booked so far in advance and it protects all parties involved.
How long does each service take?
Makeup and hair take about 45 minutes to one hour for each service, on average. If a more dramatic look is desired or if you have a lot of hair, then it can take over a hour. Trials can also take a little longer as a consultation is involved.
What type of foundation do you use?
I prefer to use airbrush makeup because of it's amazing longevity. It’s able to stand up against humidity and prolonged wear, and it requires less maintenance as well. The brand I use was developed for HD exposure, so it looks natural unlike most airbrush makeup, plus it lasts for up to 14 hours! However, drier and extremely oily skin types do better with alternative foundation options, or if you are looking for a dewier complexion. This will be discussed prior to application, but please feel free to let me know if you prefer a certain type of foundation, or have concerns!
What if I’m running late?
You are allowed a 15 minute grace period. If you are delayed beyond that, and I am able to stay, you will be charged at a rate of $25 per 15 minutes for the additional time. Please just be courteous and let me know any timing issues as far ahead as possible.
What makeup line do you use?
I use different products from almost every line, from NARS to Urban Decay. Each product has earned a spot in my kit by being the best at what it does. I test every product extensively to make sure it performs above and beyond.
How do I get ready for my appointment?
To help expedite your makeup appointment, it is best to have a clean face, and no moisturizer if possible. If you must put on a moisturizer, because your skin feels too dry, then please make sure it does not have an spf. For hair, make sure it is dry, unless you are getting a blow out, and day old hair is best.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require a 48 hour notice for cancellations or appointment changes without charge. A 36 hour notice will result in a 50% charge of the appointment fee and anything less will result in a full charge.
Do I need to have a trial?
If you are at all concerned about any aspect of your hair or makeup, then I would say yes do a trial. It will save you the stress and give you piece of mind, which I promise you is priceless!
